Holotype (unique): apparently lost. Bleeker specimens: BMNH 1867.121.28.190 (1), RMNH 7369 (2). Spelled macrorchynchos on pp. 7, 9, 27 and 31, macrorhynchos twice on p. 25 and macrorhijnchos on Pl. 1; the spelling macrorhynchos was used by Weber & de Beaufort 1911 [ref. 16091] and if a first reviser is needed we select it also. Distribution: Western Pacific: Gulf of Thailand, Sarawak (Borneo, Malaysia) and Vietnam north to southern Korea and southern Japan. Habitat: brackish, marine.
