Type catalog: Collette & Knapp 1967:46-47 [ref. 20211], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:43 [ref. 12367]. •Synonym of Percina sciera (Swain 1883), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Lee et al. 1980:740 [ref. 22416], Page 1983:31 [ref. 22189]). •Valid as Percina apristis (Hubbs & Hubbs 1954) -- (Robins & Page 2007:51 [ref. 29318], Scharpf 2008:36 [ref. 30399], Page & Burr 2011:519 [ref. 31215], Page et al. 2013:140 [ref. 32708], Page et al. 2023:203 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Percina apristis (Hubbs & Hubbs 1954). Percidae: Etheostomatinae. Distribution: Southern North A>merica: Guadalupe River system, Texas (U.S.A.). Habitat: freshwater.
