Holotype established in caption for Fig. 2 in Pl. 6 if specimen can be identified; figured specimen is possibly the SU specimen. •Synonym of Rhinichthys osculus (Girard 1856), but a valid subspecies -- (La Rivers 1994:434 [ref. 23389], Gilbert 1998:161 [ref. 23395], Scharpf 2005:39 [ref. 28940]). Current status: Synonym of Rhinichthys osculus (Girard 1856). Leuciscidae: Pogonichthyinae. Distribution: Nevada, U.S.A. [subspecies velifer]. Habitat: freshwater.
