Paratypes: MCZ (2). Type catalog: Gutiérrez de los Reyes et al. 2015:47 [ref. 36079] as atripina. •Valid as Breviraja atripinna Bigelow & Schroeder 1950 -- (McEachran & Compagno 1982:399 [ref. 2952]). •Valid as Fenestraja atripinna (Bigelow & Schroeder 1950) -- (McEachran & Dunn 1998:286 [ref. 23312], Compagno 1999:491 [ref. 25589], McEachran & Carvalho 2003:554 [ref. 26985], Weigmann 2016:110 [ref. 34211] see remarks, Last et al. 2016:29 [ref. 34941], Weigmann et al. 2016:484 [ref. 35006], Castillo Domínguez et al. 2023:6 [ref. 40663], Page et al. 2023:46 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Fenestraja atripinna (Bigelow & Schroeder 1950). Gurgesiellidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic. Habitat: marine.
