R.] 1953:199, Figs. 18, 22 [Proceedings of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia v. 105; ref. 12696] Off Puerto Vallarta, Pacific coast of Mexico, 20°48'15"N, 106°11'50"W, 3240 feet wire out. Holotype (unique): YPM 2655. Type catalog: Post 1972:149 [ref. 20860]. Appeared first as name only in Harry 1953:240 [ref. 2045]. The holotype of Lestidium neles Harry 1953 was also a paratype of Paralepis pacificus Parr 1931. •Valid as Lestidiops neles (Harry 1953) -- (Fukui & Ozawa 2004:293 [ref. 28076], Love et al. 2005:41 [ref. 37547], Castellanos-Galindo et al. 2006:254 [ref. 28944], Robertson et al. 2017:50 [ref. 35676], Love et al. 2021:63 [ref. 39279], Page et al. 2023:92 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Lestidiops neles (Harry 1953). Paralepididae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: southern tip of Baja California Sur (Mexico) south to Colombia, including Galapagos Islands (Ecuador) Habitat: marine.
