Current status: Valid as Lestidiops indopacificus (Ege 1953). Paralepididae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: South Africa, East Africa and Madagascar east to Hawaiian Islands (U.S.A.) and Marquesas Islands (French Polynesia), north to southern Japan, south to New South Wales (Australia) and New Caledonia; southeastern Pacific: off Chile. Habitat: marine.
