Holotype: USNM 47715 (7 in.). Paratypes: (6) CAS-SU 4916 (2), USNM 47715 (2 of 3). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:18 [ref. 12291]. •Valid as Chlorophthalmus proridens Gilbert & Cramer 1897 -- (Pequeño 1989:32 [ref. 14125], Sulak in Fischer et al. 1995:1006 [ref. 22829], Sato & Nakabo 2002:25 [ref. 25953], Mundy 2005:193 [ref. 28379], Castellanos-Galindo et al. 2006:252 [ref. 28944], Randall 2007:105 [ref. 30952], Kobyliansky 2013:373 [ref. 32874], Fujiwara et al. 2019:397 [ref. 36526], Balushkin & Prirodina 2020:17 [ref. 37828], Fricke & Durville 2020:8 [ref. 37648]). Current status: Valid as Chlorophthalmus proridens Gilbert & Cramer 1897. Chlorophthalmidae. Distribution: Central Pacific: Hawaiian Ridge endemic; records from Chile need verification. Habitat: marine.
