Current status: Valid as Narcetes lloydi Fowler 1934. Alepocephalidae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: South and East Africa, Seychelles and Madagascar east to Philippines and New Ireland (Papua New Guinea), north to off southern Japan, south to Lord Howe Island. Habitat: marine.
