Holotype: ZSI F10719/1. Paratypes: ZSI (3). Original genus is correctly Nemacheilus. See Das 2003:365 [ref. 27706]. Some references may refer to Schistura prashadi by mistake; wrongly placed by us. •Valid as Nemacheilus prashari Hora 1933 -- (Coad 1981:14 [ref. 22348], Menon 1987:64 [ref. 14149] as Noemacheilus, Talwar & Jhingran 1991:496 [ref. 20764], Karmakar 2000:31 [ref. 25662] as Noemacheilus prashadi, Mirza 2000:356 [ref. 25207], Vishwanath & Laisram 2001:209 [ref. 25886], Vishwanath & Shanta Kumar 2006:210 [ref. 28652]). •Questionably a synonym of Nemacheilus kessleri Günther 1889 -- (Coad 1995:22, 23 [ref. 23608]). •Valid as Paraschistura prashari (Hora 1933) -- (Prokofiev 2009:892 [ref. 30604], Çiçek et al. 2023:13 [ref. 40326]). Current status: Valid as Paraschistura prashari (Hora 1933). Nemacheilidae. Distribution: South Asia: Nepal, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Habitat: freshwater.
