Holotype: HUJ 1572 (lost). Paratypes: IBTS 1240 1-3 (3), 1360 (1), 1536 1-3 (3); SMF 7880-83 (4). Type catalog: Golani 2006:23 [ref. 28840] with holotype lost. Genus is correctly Nemacheilus. •Synonym of Nemacheilus prashari Hora 1933 -- (Coad 1981:14 [ref. 22348] as Noemacheilus). •Valid as Nemacheilus lindbergi Bănărescu & Mirza 1965 -- (Menon 1987 [ref. 14149] as Noemacheilus, Talwar & Jhingran 1991:486 [ref. 20764], Coad 1995:22 [ref. 23608], Coad 1996:6 [ref. 23831]). •Valid as Schistura lindbergi (Bănărescu & Mirza 1965) -- (Bănărescu & Nalbant 1995:441 [ref. 23187], Nalbant & Bianco 1998:116 [ref. 23810], Mirza 2003:15 [ref. 27265]). •Synonym of Paraschistura kessleri (Günther 1889), but a valid subspecies -- (Prokofiev 2009:892 [ref. 30604]). •Valid as Paraschistura lindbergi (Bănărescu & Mirza 1965) -- (Kottelat 2012:101 [ref. 32367], Freyhof et al. 2015:46 [ref. 33865], Çiçek et al. 2023:13 [ref. 40326]). Current status: Valid as Paraschistura lindbergi (Bănărescu & Mirza 1965). Nemacheilidae. Distribution: South Asia: Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan. Habitat: freshwater.
