Type catalog: Monkolprasit 1969:9 [ref. 25088], Böhlke 1984:88 [ref. 13621]. •Synonym of Cirrhinus molitorella (Valenciennes 1844) -- (Roberts 1997:193 [ref. 23550], Kottelat 2001:43 [ref. 25780]). •Valid as Cirrhinus prosemion (Fowler 1934) -- (Rainboth 1996:108 [ref. 22772], Kottelat 2013:89 [ref. 32989], Taki et al. 2021:167 [ref. 39830]). Current status: Valid as Cirrhinus prosemion (Fowler 1934). Cyprinidae: Labeoninae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Mae Klong, Chao Phraya and Mekong River basins, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Habitat: freshwater.
