triporos, Rohita Bleeker [P.] 1852:598 [Natuurkundig Tijdschrift voor Nederlandsch IndiĆ« v. 3 (no. 4); ref. 334] Palembang, Sumatra, Indonesia. Holotype (unique): BMNH 1866.5.2.164. Bleeker specimen: RMNH 4963 (1). Neotype designation by Karnasuta 1993:50 [ref. 20700] is invalid as the holotype is available. •Valid as Osteochilus triporus (Bleeker 1852) -- (Roberts 1989:54 [ref. 6439]), but requiring the supression of the holotype and replacement with RMNH 4963. •At present, holotype is considered conspecific with Osteochilus microcephalus (Valenciennes 1842) -- (Karnasuta 1993:50 [ref. 20700]). •Valid as Osteochilus triporos (Bleeker 1852) -- (Kottelat et al. 1993:41 [ref. 23448], Kottelat & Lim 1996:231 [ref. 23210], Doi 1997:9 [ref. 22832], Kottelat & Widjanarti 2005:152 [ref. 28284]). •Synonym of Osteochilus microcephalus (Valenciennes 1842) -- (Kottelat 2008:249 [ref. 29975], Kottelat 2013:135 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Osteochilus microcephalus (Valenciennes 1842). Cyprinidae: Labeoninae. Habitat: freshwater.
