choprai, Nemachilus Hora [S. L.] 1934:310, Fig. 9 [Records of the Indian Museum (Calcutta) v. 36 (pt 3); ref. 18309] Lutkuh River, near Hot Springs, Chitral Valley, Pakistan. Holotype: ZSI F11301/1. Paratypes: BMNH 1932.8.2.1-6 [6] possible, presented by Hora 1932 from type locality. Original genus is correctly Nemacheilus. See Das 2003:363 [ref. 27706]. •Synonym of Nemacheilus stoliczkai (Steindachner 1866) -- (Berg 1949:864 [ref. 20661] as Nemachilus). •Status uncertain -- (Coad 1981:14 [ref. 22348]). •Valid as Indotriplophysa choprai (Hora 1934) -- (Kottelat 2012:85 [ref. 32367]). •Valid as Triplophysa choprai (Hora 1934) -- (Menon 1987:200 [ref. 14149], Talwar & Jhingran 1991:510 [ref. 20764], Prokofiev 2001:194 [ref. 26613], Mirza 2003:16 [ref. 27265], Prokofiev 2007:7 [ref. 28990], Prokofiev 2010:896 [ref. 31096], Prokofiev 2017: 172 [ref. 31096], Usharamalakshmi et al. 2018:6 [ref. 36315], Çiçek et al. 2023:49 [ref. 40326]). Current status: Valid as Triplophysa choprai (Hora 1934). Nemacheilidae. Distribution: South Asia: Pakistan and Kashmir. Habitat: freshwater.
