Available as above with same specimens as in Bănărescu 1953. •Synonym of Gobio kesslerii Dybowski 1862, but a valid subspecies as described -- (Lelek 1987:194 [ref. 22962] as kessleri, Bănărescu 1999:135, 152 [ref. 24846] as kessleri). •Synonym of Gobio kesslerii Dybowski 1862 -- (Kottelat 1997:62 [ref. 22952]). •Possibly a synonym of Romanogobio carpathorossicus (Vladykov 1925) -- (Friedrich et al. 2018:346 [ref. 35869]). •Valid as Romanogobio banaticus (Bănărescu 1960) -- (Naseka & Freyhof 2004:18 [ref. 27663], Bogutskaya et al. 2019:110 [ref. 36545], Bănăduc et al. 2023:91 [ref. 40734]). Current status: Valid as Romanogobio banaticus (Bănărescu 1960). Gobionidae. Distribution: Eastern Europe: Romania. Habitat: freshwater.
