Type catalog: Bertin 1948:6 [ref. 19577]. •Synonym of Hoplerythrinus unitaeniatus (Spix & Agassiz 1829) -- (Taphorn 1992:443 [ref. 23654]). •Valid as Hoplerythrinus gronovii (Valenciennes 1847) -- (Oyakawa in Reis et al. 2003:239 [ref. 27061], Mattox et al. 2024:356 [ref. 40807]). Current status: Valid as Hoplerythrinus gronovii (Valenciennes 1847). Erythrinidae. Distribution: South America: French Guiana. Habitat: freshwater.
