melanopleura, Glandulocauda Eigenmann [C. H.] 1911:170, Pl. 5 (fig. 6 or 7) [Annals of the Carnegie Museum v. 8 (no. 1) (art. 3); ref. 1226] Rio Iguaçu at Serrinha Paraná, Brazil. Holotype: FMNH 54895 [ex CM 3557]. Paratypes: (5, CM) CAS 60470 (2), USNM 177725 [ex FMNH 54896] (1), FMNH 54896 (3, now 2). Type catalog: Henn 1928:68 [ref. 12305], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:39 [ref. 12367]. Also appeared in Eigenmann 1911:157, fig. 2 on Pl.3 [ref. 1226]. Secondarily preoccupied in Glandulocauda by Hyphessobrycon melanopleurus Ellis 1911; replaced by Glandulocauda caerulea Menezes & Weitzman 2009. Valid as Mimagoniates melanopleura (Eigenmann 1911) -- (Schultz 1959:11 [ref. 39721]). •Valid as Glandulocauda melanopleura Eigenmann 1911 -- (Menezes & Weitzman 1990:384 [ref. 16172], López et al. 2002:59 [ref. 26808], Menezes et al. 2008:38 [ref. 31161], Thomaz et al. 2015:Add.5 [ref. 33893]). •Synonym of Glandulocauda caerulea Menezes & Weitzman 2009 -- (Menezes & Weitzman 2009:317 [ref. 30495]). 2°Homonym. Current status: Synonym of Glandulocauda caerulea Menezes & Weitzman 2009. Characidae: Stevardiinae. Habitat: freshwater.
