cochui, Microbrycon Ladiges [W.] in Roloff 1949:337, Figs. 1-2 [Wochenschrift für Aquarien- und Terrarienkunde v. 43 (no. 12); ref. 32871] Upper Amazon, South America. Syntypes: MHNG 2187.75 (1, ex ZSM), ZSM 5894-99 (6 now 5), Type catalog: Weber 1998:8 [ref. 32707], Neumann 2011:246 [ref. 31652]. Also in Arnold 1949:68 [ref. 22892], based on Ladiges description. This appeared first as Ladiges in Roloff 1949 (email from T. Litz, Aug. 19, 2013), but the description in part was taken from Ladiges 1950, and Roloff cited the pages in Ladiges. Also appeared as Microbrycon cuchui Ladiges 1950:306, Figs. 1-3 [ref. 12958] were types were listed. •Valid as Tyttocharax cochui (Ladiges 1949) -- (Ortega & Vari 1986:10 [ref. 9708], Weitzman & Ortega 1995:134 [ref. 21874], Weitzman in Reis et al. 2003:228 [ref. 27061], Román-Valencia et al. 2012:519 [ref. 32203], Barriga Salazar 2014:109 [ref. 35745] as Tythocharax, Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:54 [ref. 35633], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:20 [ref. 39298], Menezes & Camelier 2024:284 [ref. 40817] dated 1950). Current status: Valid as Tyttocharax cochui (Ladiges 1949). Stevardiidae: Xenurobryconinae. Distribution: South America: Amazon River basin (Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
