Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftliche Classe v. 30 (no. 13); ref. 13404] Río Guaporé, Bolivia. Lectotype: NMW 68805.1. Paralectotypes: NMW 16363 (1), 68805.2 (1), 79430-32 (1, 1, 1, all dry). Appeared in more detail in Kner 1859:139, Fig. 1 [ref. 2631]. Lectotype selected by Vari 1989:29 [ref. 13506]. Parentheses are used around Kner 1858 since Curimatus and Curimata have different authors and can be considered different genera. •Valid as Curimata vittata (Kner 1858) -- (Ortega & Vari 1986:11 [ref. 9708], Vari 1989:27 [ref. 13506], Vari & Reis 1995:302 [ref. 21943], Gaye-Siessegger & Fricke 1998:6 [ref. 23755], Vari in Reis et al. 2003:53 [ref. 27061], Barriga Salazar 2014:105 [ref. 35745], Sarmiento et al. 2014:61, 186 [ref. 35004], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:41 [ref. 35633], Careaga et al. 2020:76 [ref. 37774], Silvano et al. 2020:99 [ref. 38133], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:15 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Curimata vittata (Kner 1858). Curimatidae. Distribution: South America: Amazon, upper Orinoco and Essequibo River basins (Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Guyana, Peru and Venezuela). Habitat: freshwater.
