Lectotype selected by Vari 1991:92 [ref. 19019]; earlier designation by Miranda Ribeiro as 2611A was not sustainable (specimen A not separated). •Valid as Steindachnerina notonota (Miranda Ribeiro 1937) -- (Vari 1991:89 [ref. 19019], Pavanelli & Britski 1999:216 [ref. 24224], Vari in Reis et al. 2003:61 [ref. 27061], Netto-Ferreira & Vari 2011:527 [ref. 31707], Ramos et al. 2014:3 [ref. 35321], Petry et al. 2016:303 [ref. 34966], Melo et al. 2016:375 [ref. 35317], Costa et al. 2017:44 [ref. 35684], Koerber et al. 2022:25 [ref. 39235], Vieira et al. 2023:17 [ref. 40759]). Current status: Valid as Steindachnerina notonota (Miranda Ribeiro 1937). Curimatidae. Distribution: South America: coastal rivers of northeastern Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
