Type catalog: Gilbert 1998:172 [ref. 23395]. •Valid as Thoburnia atripinnis (Bailey 1959) -- (Page & Burr 1991:190 [ref. 18983], Nelson et al. 2004:80 [ref. 27807]). •Valid as Moxostoma atripinne Bailey 1959 -- (Lee et al. 1980:412 [ref. 22416], Etnier & Starnes 1993:287 [ref. 22809]). •Valid as Thoburnia atripinnis (Bailey 1959) -- (Gilbert 1998:172 [ref. 23395], Scharpf 2006:12 [ref. 30386], Page & Burr 2011:339 [ref. 31215], Page et al. 2013:81 [ref. 32708], Page et al. 2023:65 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Thoburnia atripinnis (Bailey 1959). Catostomidae: Catostominae. Distribution: North America: Tennessee and Kentucky (U.S.A.). Habitat: freshwater.
