Species not listed in earlier abstract [ref. 18909]. •Valid as Characidium declivirostre Steindachner 1915 -- (Buckup 1993:101 [ref. 20831], Buckup in Reis et al. 2003:89 [ref. 27061], Peixoto & Wosiacki 2013:56 [ref. 32558], Lujan et al. 2013:456 [ref. 32922], Zanata & Camelier 2014:340 [ref. 33380] as cf. declivirostre, Zanata & Ohara 2015:375 [ref. 33970] as cf. declivirostre, Zanata & Camelier 2015:497 [ref. 33983] as cf. declivirostre, Zanata et al. 2015:381 [ref. 34023] as cf.decliviriostre, Zanata et al. 2020:10 [ref. 37813], Armbruster et al. 2021:109 [ref. 38198], Buckup 2024:297 [ref. 40817], Zanata et al. 2024:8 [ref. 41604]). Current status: Valid as Characidium declivirostre Steindachner 1915. Crenuchidae: Characidiinae. Distribution: South America: Orinoco River basin and upper Negro River drainage, Amazon River basin (Venezuela, Colombia and Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
