Species not listed in earlier abstract [ref. 18909]. Current status: Valid as Characidium boavistae Steindachner 1915. Crenuchidae: Characidiinae. Distribution: South America: tributary of Lake Maracaibo, Orinoco River basin and northern tributaries of Amazon basin (Brazil, Colombia, Guyana and Venezuela). Habitat: freshwater.
