Also treated as a synonym of Leporinus leschenaulti Valenciennes 1850 by Garavello & Britski in Reis et al. 2003:76 [ref. 27061]. •Also treated as a synonym of Leporinus leschenaulti Valenciennes 1850 by Garavello & Britski in Reis et al. 2003:76 [ref. 27061]. •Valid as Leporinus parae Eigenmann 1907 -- (Garavello & Britski in Reis et al. 2003:77 [ref. 27061], Britski & Birindelli 2008:49 [ref. 29578], Melo et al. 2016:132 [ref. 34701] dated 1908, DoNascimiento et al. 2017:40 [ref. 35633], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:15 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Leporinus parae Eigenmann 1907. Anostomidae. Distribution: South America: Amazon and Orinoco river basins (Brazil, Colombia and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
