Lectotype: MNHN 0000-0712. Paralectotypes: MNHN B-2586 [ex MNHN 0000-0712] (4). Type catalog: Bertin & Estève 1948:63 [ref. 19574], Almaça 1969:1123 [ref. 20712]. Spelled agassizii on plate and agassii in text (on "L'Able d'Agassiz"); the latter is correctly formed; Valenciennes in Cuvier and Valenciennes serves as first reviser selecting agassii according to Kottelat & Freyhof 2009:80 [ref. 30320]. Lectotype selected by Almaça 1969:1123 [ref. 20712]. See Kottelat & Freyhof 2009:80 [ref. 30320] for more details. •Synonym of Leuciscus souffia Risso 1827, but a valid subspecies -- (Lelek 1987:210 [ref. 22962] as agassizi). •Valid as Telestes agassizii (Valenciennes 1844) -- (Bianco & Ketmaier 2001:200 [ref. 26728] as agassizi). •Synonym of Leuciscus souffia Risso 1827 -- (Kottelat 1997:70 [ref. 22952], Kottelat & Freyhof 2007:288 [ref. 29996] as agassii, Kottelat & Freyhof 2009:80 [ref. 30320] as agassii). Current status: Synonym of Telestes souffia (Risso 1827). Leuciscidae: Leuciscinae. Habitat: freshwater.
