Paratypes: AMNH 11038 (1). •Synonym of Microphysogobio brevirostris (Günther 1868), but a valid subspecies -- (Bănărescu & Nalbant 1966:195 [ref. 20622]). •Valid as Microphysogobio fukiensis (Nichols 1926) -- (Zheng et al. 1989:144 [ref. 21202], Jin in Pan et al. 1991:212 [ref. 23876], Bănărescu 1992:325 [ref. 40251], Zhu 1995:83 [ref. 25213], Yue in Chen et al. 1998:359 [ref. 23878], Tang et al. 2001:13 [ref. 25373], Ying et al. 2011:66 [ref. 31333], Kottelat 2013:124 [ref. 32989], Zhang et al. 2016:74 [ref. 34477], Huang et al. 2016:207 [ref. 34842], Huang et al. 2017:table 1 [ref. 35245], Huang et al. 2018:[20] [ref. 36342], Sun et al. 2022:358 [ref. 39161]). Current status: Valid as Microphysogobio fukiensis (Nichols 1926). Gobionidae. Distribution: East Asia: Min and Joulung River basins, Fujian Province, southern China. Habitat: freshwater.
