Lectotype selected by Gibbs 1963:522 [ref. 21327]. •Synonym of Notropis analostanus (Girard 1859), but a valid subspecies -- (Gibbs 1963:522 [ref. 21327]). •Valid as Notropis chloristius (Jordan & Brayton 1878) -- (Gilbert 1978:36 [ref. 7042], Lee et al. 1980:253 [ref. 22416]). •Valid as Cyprinella chloristia (Jordan & Brayton 1878) -- (Mayden 1989:76 [ref. 12555], Page & Burr 1991:121 [ref. 18983], Gilbert 1998:59 [ref. 23395], Nelson et al. 2004:69 [ref. 27807], Scharpf 2005:13 [ref. 28940], Page & Burr 2011:238 [ref. 31215], Page et al. 2013:69 [ref. 32708]). Current status: Valid as Cyprinella chloristia (Jordan & Brayton 1878). Leuciscidae: Pogonichthyinae. Distribution: Eastern U.S.A.: North Carolina and South Carolina. Habitat: freshwater.
