C.] 1849:320 [Madras Journal of Literature and Science v. 15 (pt 2); ref. 4902] Kaveri River at Srirangapattana, India [original locality: Cavery River, Karnataka, southern India]. No types known. Neotype selected by Silva et al. 2010:46 [ref. 30779] and is the same neotype for Leuciscus flavus, Leuciscu caveri and Leuciscus xanthogramme; they also established relative precedence as first revisers. •Valid as Rasbora caverii (Jerdon 1849) -- (Brittan 1954:144 [ref. 646], Pethiyagoda 1991:125 [ref. 20075], Talwar & Jhingran 1991:388 [ref. 20764], Indra 1991:236 [ref. 24005], Rema Devi 1993:354 [ref. 24007], Rema Devi 1993:196 [ref. 24010], Indra 1994:412 [ref. 24015], Rema Devi & Raghunathan 1999:167 [ref. 24760], Rema Devi et al. 1999:154 [ref. 24758], Menon 1999:52 [ref. 24904], Vishwanath & Laisram 2005:429 [ref. 28249], Jadhav & Yadav 2009:243 [ref. 30303], Liao et al. 2009:[4] [ref. 30521], Liao et al. 2010:166 [ref. 30521], Plamoottil 2016:24 [ref. 34948], Bleher 2018:744 [ref. 36647]). •Synonym of Rasbora dandia (Valenciennes 1844) -- (Silva et al. 2010:29 [ref. 30779]). Current status: Valid as Rasbora caverii (Jerdon 1849). Danionidae: Rasborinae. Distribution: South Asia: southern India and Sri Lanka. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
