Type catalog: Gilbert 1978:77 [ref. 7042], Gilbert 1998:145 [ref. 23395]. Distribution: Southern North America: widespread in southern-central highlands of Mexico: Río Lerma drainage, select tributaries of the Río Balsas, the endorheic Río Grande de Morelia basin, and headwaters of the Río Pánuco, Ciudad de México, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Jalisco, México State, Michoacán, Morelos, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí. IUCN (2019): Least concern. Habitat: freshwater.
