fluviatilis, Belone Regan [C. T.] 1903:626 [Annals and Magazine of Natural History (Series 7) v. 12 (no. 72) (art. 64); ref. 13401] Rivers of northwestern Ecuador. Syntypes: BMNH 1901.8.3.26 (1), 1902.5.27.52 (1), 1902.7.29.61 (1). Lovejoy & Collette in Reis et al. 2003:587 [ref. 27061] have 1901.8.3.26 as holotype, but clearly 3 specimens in original description. •Valid as Belone fluviatilis Regan 1903 -- (Mees 1962:26 [ref. 13277]). •Valid as Strongylura fluviatilis (Regan 1903) -- (Collette & Berry 1965:392 [ref. 13367], Ovchynnyk 1967:40 [ref. 37559], Lovejoy & Collette 2001:329 [ref. 25232], Collette 2003:6 [ref. 27306], Barriga Salazar 2014:117 [ref. 35745], Jiménez-Prado et al. 2015:307, 402 [ref. 34894]). Current status: Valid as Strongylura fluviatilis (Regan 1903). Belonidae. Distribution: South America: Pacific slope of the Andes (Colombia and Ecuador). Habitat: freshwater.
