Current status: Valid as Pseudotylosurus microps (Günther 1866). Belonidae. Distribution: South America: primarily a species of the Orinoco, Guianas, and lower Amazon (Araguaia, Xingu, Negro and Branco) (Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, Suriname, Peru and Venezuela). Habitat: freshwater.
