Original as brachijnotopterus, with Dutch "ij" equivalent to y in Latin; as brachynotopterus on p. 163 (index). •Valid as Dermogenys brachynotopterus (Bleeker 1853) -- (Ataur Rahman 1989:60 [ref. 24860] with Day 1878 as author, Talwar & Jhingran 1991:732 [ref. 20764], Meisner 2001:218 [ref. 25599], Ataur Rahman 2003:75 [ref. 31338] with Day as author and as brachynopterus, Collette 2004:14 [ref. 27583]). Current status: Valid as Dermogenys brachynotopterus (Bleeker 1853). Zenarchopteridae. Distribution: Hooghly River, India, Bangladesh. Habitat: brackish.
