Paralectotypes: AMNH 20833 [ex SMF 6558-60] (3); SMF 6495-98 (3), 6557 (1); RMNH 10535-36 (2). The subgenus name was misspelled as Dermatogenus by Popta 1912:187 [ref. 14861]. Lectotype selected by Eschmeyer et al. 1998 (not by Meisner 2001:251 [ref. 25599]). •Valid as Dermogenys ebrardtii (Popta 1912) -- (Brembach 1991:157 [ref. 20227], Kottelat et al. 1993:84 [ref. 23448], Meisner & Louie 2000:366 [ref. 25079]). •Valid as Nomorhamphus ebrardtii (Popta 1912) -- (Meisner 2001:251 [ref. 25599], Collette 2004:18 [ref. 27583], Huylebrouck et al. 2012:483 [ref. 32159], Kottelat 2013:294 [ref. 32989], Huylebrouck et al. 2014:204 [ref. 33515], Miesen et al. 2016:86 [ref. 34492], Kraemer et al. 2019:295 [ref. 37368]). Current status: Valid as Nomorhamphus ebrardtii (Popta 1912). Zenarchopteridae. Distribution: Sulawesi Tenggara, Indonesia. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
