Paralectotypes: CAS-SU 23079 (1), 23134 (3), 23143 (1). Type catalog: Henn 1928:73 [ref. 12305], Böhlke 1953:37 [ref. 12291], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:72 [ref. 12367], Ho & Shao 2011:30 [ref. 31432]. Described specimen designated the lectotype by Eschmeyer 1998:1576 [ref. 23416]. •Questionably a synonym of Capoeta semifasciolata (Günther 1868) -- (Wu et al. 1977:259 [ref. 4807]). •Valid as Puntius snyderi Oshima 1919 -- (Ho & Shao 2011:30 [ref. 31432]). •Valid as "Puntius" synderi Oshima 1919 -- (Yang et al. 2015:99 [ref. 33694] in Cyprininae, tribe Poropuntiini). •Valid as Puntius snyderi Oshima 1919 -- (Zhang et al. 2016:97 [ref. 34477]). Current status: Valid as Puntius snyderi Oshima 1919. Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Distribution: Taiwan and ? China. Habitat: freshwater.
