Holotype (unique): ZSI F12867. Alcock specimens: BMNH 1892.6.17.3 [ex ZSI] (1). Type catalog: Menon & Yazdani 1968:139 [ref. 20743], Menon & Rama-Rao 1975:38 [ref. 22148]. Original genus should have been Macrourus. Originally as wood-masoni. Figured in Alcock 1894: Pl. 13 (fig. 1) [ref. 17304]. •Valid as Coryphaenoides woodmasoni (Alcock 1890) -- (Iwamoto in Cohen et al. 1990:201 [ref. 18936], Shcherbachev & Iwamoto 1995:307 [ref. 22071], Habib & Islam 2020:Supplementary table p. 9 [ref. 38321]). Current status: Valid as Coryphaenoides woodmasoni (Alcock 1890). Macrouridae. Distribution: Indian Ocean. Habitat: marine.
