Lectotype: MRAC 11856. Paralectotypes: BMNH 1920.5.26.104-108 (5) Nhale, 1920.5.26.109 and 112-114 (6?) Kilug, 1920.5.26.110 (1, c&s); MRAC 11857-66 (10), 11867-961 (95 or 102), 11962-12062 (101 or 107). Lectotype selected by Seegers 1996:271 [ref. 23725]. •Valid as Aplocheilichthys moeruensis (Boulenger 1914) -- (Wildekamp et al. 1986:178 [ref. 6198], Seegers 1996:271 [ref. 23725], Lazara 2001:42 [ref. 25711]). •Valid as Lacustricola moeruensis (Boulenger 1914) -- (Huber 1999:59 [ref. 23835], Nagy & Manda 2020:209 [ref. 37857] as 'Lacustricola', Abwe et al. 2023:31 [ref. 39992]). Current status: Valid as Lacustricola moeruensis (Boulenger 1914). Procatopodidae: Procatopodinae. Distribution: Southern-central Africa: Lake Mweru system, upper Congo River system (Democratic Republic of Congo). Habitat: freshwater.
