Lectotype: BMNH 1932.6.13.100. Paralectotypes: BMNH 1932.6.13.98 (1, c&s), 1932.6.13.99 (1; now holotype of Eremodon kifuani), 1932.6.13.101 (1). Lectotype selected by Huber & Meinema 2024:85 [ref. 41038]. •Valid as Aplocheilichthys rudolfianus (Worthington 1932) -- (Wildekamp et al. 1986:183 [ref. 6198], Lazara 2001:45 [ref. 25711]). •Valid as Micropanchax rudolfianus (Worthington 1932) -- (Huber 1999:58 [ref. 23835], Meinema & Huber 2023:28 [ref. 40175], Huber & Meinema 2024:88 [ref. 41038]). Current status: Valid as Micropanchax rudolfianus (Worthington 1932). Procatopodidae: Procatopodinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Turkana basin, Kenya and Ethiopia. Habitat: freshwater.
