Lectotype: BMNH 1908.5.25.124. Paralectotypes: BMNH 1908.5.25.123 (1). Lectotype selected by Wildekamp & van der Zee 1995:15 [ref. 33496]. •Synonym of Epiplatys singa (Boulenger 1899) -- (Wildekamp et al. 1986:259 [ref. 6198]). •Valid as Epiplatys ansorgii (Boulenger 1911) -- (Wildekamp 1996:25 [ref. 23649], Seegers 1997:16 [ref. 23895], Lazara 2001:100 [ref. 25711], Huber 2006:77 [ref. 30603], van der Zee et al. 2007:97 [ref. 30034], van der Zee et al. 2013:413 [ref. 32829], Fermon et al. 2022:262 [ref. 39448], Walsh et al. 2022:[5] [ref. 39281]). Current status: Valid as Epiplatys ansorgii (Boulenger 1911). Nothobranchiidae. Distribution: Western-central Africa: Lower Congo River system (Gabon, Republic of Congo, Angola). Habitat: freshwater.
