Name also appeared in Bianconi 1855:143 [ref. 26452] with figure. •Valid as Centriscus punctulatus (Bianconi 1854) -- (Mohr 1937:27 [ref. 15290]). •Valid as Aeoliscus punctulatus (Bianconi 1855) -- (Dor 1984:73 [ref. 29757], Heemstra 1986:461 [ref. 5660], Goren & Dor 1994:19 [ref. 25356], Manilo & Bogorodsky 2003:S101 [ref. 27377], Heemstra & Heemstra 2004:141 [ref. 28072], Kuiter 2009:305 [ref. 30404] dated 1855-1859, Allen & Erdmann 2012:215 [ref. 31980], Fricke et al. 2018:127 [ref. 35805], Golani & Fricke 2018:47 [ref. 36273], Heemstra 2022:501 [ref. 39724], Allen & Erdmann 2024:232 [ref. 40796] as punctatus). Current status: Valid as Aeoliscus punctulatus (Bianconi 1854). Centriscidae: Centriscinae. Distribution: Red Sea; Western Indian Ocean: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), East Africa and Gulf ofn Aden east to Seychelles and Madagascar. Habitat: marine.
