Type catalog: Henn 1928:61 [ref. 12305], Böhlke 1953:22 [ref. 12291], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:13 [ref. 12367]. Originally as potaroënsis. •Valid as Jupiaba potaroensis (Eigenmann 1909) -- (Zanata 1997:132 [ref. 24112], Buckup in Reis et al. 2003:143 [ref. 27061], Pereira & Lucinda 2007:54 [ref. 29302], Netto-Ferreira et al. 2009:65 [ref. 30519], Taphorn et al. 2022:16 [ref. 41297]). Current status: Valid as Jupiaba potaroensis (Eigenmann 1909). Acestrorhamphidae: Jupiabinae. Distribution: South America: Potaro River basin (Guyana) endemic. Habitat: freshwater.
