Type catalog: Ibarra & Stewart 1987:23 [ref. 12367], Böhlke 1984:23 [ref. 13621]. •Valid as Menidia attenuata (Meek 1902) -- (Miller 2006:192 [ref. 28615]). •Valid as Chirostoma attenuatum Meek 1902 -- (Espinosa Pérez et al. 1993:59 [ref. 22290], Dyer in Reis et al. 2003:518 [ref. 27061], Nelson et al. 2004:98 [ref. 27807], Scharpf 2007:7 [ref. 30398] with subspeceis, Page et al. 2013:100 [ref. 32708]). Current status: Valid as Chirostoma attenuatum Meek 1902. Atherinopsidae: Menidiinae. Distribution: Lake Pátzcuro and Lake Zirahuén, Lerma River basin, Mexico. Habitat: freshwater.
