Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:32 [ref. 12291], Gilbert 1998:115 [ref. 23395]. •Synonym of Hesperoleucus symmetricus (Baird & Girard 1854), but a valid subspecies -- (Gilbert 1998:115 [ref. 23395], Scharpf 2005:19 [ref. 28940]). •Synonym of Lavinia symmetricus (Baird & Girard 1854), but a valid subspecies -- (Moyle 2002:140 [ref. 26449]). •Valid as Hesperoleucus mitrulus Snyder 1913 -- (Baumsteiger & Moyle 2019:234 [ref. 36443], Page et al. 2023:70 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Hesperoleucus mitrulus Snyder 1913. Leuciscidae: Laviniinae. Distribution: Western North America: upper Pit River basin, Oregon and California (U.S.A.). Habitat: freshwater.
