Paratypes: BMNH 1911.10.31.244 (1), CAS 61851 [ex IU 11716] (1). Type catalog: Henn 1928:66 [ref. 12305], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:58 [ref. 12367]. Possibly in another genus (Marinho 2024:235 [ref. 40817]). •Valid as Moenkhausia shideleri Eigenmann 1909 -- (Lucena & Lucena 1999:235 [ref. 24225], Benine in Reis et al. 2003:150 [ref. 27061], Géry & Zarske 2004:43 [ref. 28287], Marinho & Benine 2024:235 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Moenkhausia shideleri Eigenmann 1909. Characidae: Stethaprioninae. Distribution: South America: Guyana. Habitat: freshwater.
