E.] 1958:320, Fig. 1 (top & center) [Copeia 1958 (no. 4); ref. 12373] Cava de Pavos, Quebrada de Puente Perez, about 1/4 mile above Río Huallaga, vicinity of Tingo Maria, Huanuco Province, Peru. Holotype: ANSP 78707. Paratypes: ANSP 78708-09 (1, 12), 78710 (11, 1 exchanged with Géry), 78711 (3, c&s), 78712-13 (1, 1); Géry coll. (1); CAS-SU 51095 (2). Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:53 [ref. 13621]. •Valid as Scopaeocharax rhinodus (Böhlke 1958) -- (Ortega & Vari 1986:9 [ref. 9708], Weitzman & Burns 1997:148 [ref. 24512], Weitzman in Reis et al. 2003:227 [ref. 27061], Barriga Salazar 2014:109 [ref. 35745], Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893], Bogotá-Gregory et al. 2020:1400 [ref. 37878], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:19 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Scopaeocharax rhinodus (Böhlke 1958). Characidae: Stevardiinae. Distribution: South America: Western Amazon basin (Peru, Colombia and Ecuador). Habitat: freshwater.
