Apparently the same as Trachipterus trachipterus (Gmelin 1789) and not an original description. •Synonym of Desmodema polystictum (Ogilby 1898) -- (Martin & Hilton 2021:308 [ref. 38678]). Current status: Synonym of Trachipterus trachypterus (Gmelin 1789). Trachipteridae. Habitat: marine.
