D.] 1940:8, 16, Pl. 1 (fig. 3) [Occasional Papers of the Museum of Zoology University of Michigan No. 416; ref. 10848] Buffalo River, 4 miles southeast of St. Joe, Searcy County, Arkansas, U.S.A. Holotype: UMMZ 123548. Paratypes: UMMZ 123391 (2), 123504 (1), 124594 (4); USNM 117587 (1). Type catalog: Collette & Knapp 1967:62 [ref. 20211]. Main description is under the subspecies P. e. euzonus; a second subspecies described at the same time. •Valid as Etheostoma euzonum (Hubbs & Black 1940) -- (Lee et al. 1980:645 [ref. 22416], Kuehne & Barbour 1983:76 [ref. 38055], Page 1983:61 [ref. 22189], Robison & Buchanan 1988:418 [ref. 23393], Page & Burr 1991:298 [ref. 18983], Switzer & Wood 2002:450 [ref. 26023], Nelson et al. 2004:133 [ref. 27807], Scharpf 2008:25 [ref. 30399] with subspecies, Page & Burr 2011:549 [ref. 31215] with 2 subspecies, Page et al. 2013:137 [ref. 32708], Stephens et al. 2014:544 [ref. 33552], Page et al. 2023:199 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Etheostoma euzonum (Hubbs & Black 1940). Percidae: Etheostomatinae. Distribution: North America: Missouri and Arkansas (U.S.A.). Habitat: freshwater.
