Appeared first without distinguishing features in Bleeker 1845:524 [ref. 312] and spelled tridactijlus (all instances of the letter "y" were consistently replaced with "ij" in the paper). •Valid as Eleutheronema tridactylum (Bleeker 1849) -- (Kottelat et al. 1993:128 [ref. 23448], Randall & Lim in Randall & Lim 2000:621 [ref. 25122], Feltes 2001:3097 [ref. 26107], Motomura et al. 2002:56 [ref. 25954], Motomura 2003:33 [ref. 27186] dated 1845, Motomura 2004:2 [ref. 27601], Motomura 2004:19 [ref. 27970], Motomura 2009:168 [ref. 30446], Psomadakis et al. 2020:497 [ref. 37272]). Current status: Valid as Eleutheronema tridactylum (Bleeker 1849). Polynemidae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Myanmar east to Thailand, Malaysia, and western Indonesia. Habitat: brackish, marine.
