M.] 1945:100, Fig. 8 [Bulletin of the United States National Museum No. 188; ref. 4056] Chang-mai [Chiengmai], presumably in the Meping [Maeping] River, northern Thailand. Holotype: MCZ 35524. Type catalog: Monkolprasit 1969:5 [ref. 25088]. •Valid as Barilius ponticulus (Smith 1945) -- (Roberts 1989:31 [ref. 6439], Fang 2001:18 [ref. 25285]). •Questionably a synonym of Opsarius koratensis (Smith 1931) -- (Kottelat 2001:65 [ref. 25780], Kottelat 2013:131 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Opsarius koratensis (Smith 1931). Danionidae: Chedrinae. Habitat: freshwater.
