Type catalog: Smith-Vaniz et al. 1979:16 [ref. 12247] with holotype (6324) and paratype; MNHN A.6324 designated lectotype by Eschmeyer 1998:1319 [ref. 23416]. •Synonym of Caranx sexfasciatus Quoy & Gaimard 1825 -- (Daget & Smith-Vaniz 1986:313 [ref. 6207], Kottelat 2013:333 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Caranx sexfasciatus Quoy & Gaimard 1825. Carangidae: Caranginae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
