Paralectotypes: (3) CAS-SU 23120 (1). Type catalog: Henn 1928:71 [ref. 12305], Böhlke 1953:40 [ref. 12291], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:36 [ref. 12367], Ho & Shao 2011:32 [ref. 31432]. Lectotype selected by Eschmeyer 1998:647 [ref. 23416]. See account of Formosania; the genus Crossostoma is preoccupied. The genus is feminine, therefore mandatory correction to lacustris. •Synonym of Crossostoma lacustre Steindachner 1908 -- (Tzeng & Shen 1982:164 [ref. 8410], Watanabe 1983:106 [ref. 8266], Chen & Tang in Yue 2000:466 [ref. 25272]). •Synonym of Formosania lacustris (Steindachner 1908) -- (Novák et al. 2006:92 [ref. 28661], Ho & Shao 2011:32 [ref. 31432], Kottelat 2012:61 [ref. 32367]). Current status: Synonym of Formosania lacustris (Steindachner 1908). Gastromyzontidae. Habitat: freshwater.
