Paratypes: USNM 109751-52 (1, 1). •Valid as Aperioptus gracilentus (Smith 1945) -- (Page & Tangjitjaroen 2015:179 [ref. 33815], Taki et al. 2021:190 [ref. 39830]). •Valid as Acanthopsoides gracilentus (Smith 1945) -- (Siebert 1991:103 [ref. 20084], Rainboth 1996:135 [ref. 22772], Doi 1997:14 [ref. 22832], Kottelat 1998:91 [ref. 23436], Kottelat 2001:86 [ref. 25780], Kottelat 2012:22 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2015:45 [ref. 33971]). Current status: Valid as Acanthopsoides gracilentus (Smith 1945). Cobitidae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Chao Phraya and Mekong River basins, Thailand and central and northern Laos. Habitat: freshwater.
